With the development of science and technology, the modern magnetic sensor has been developed to the solid, it is the use of magnetic field to make the electrical properties of the material changes in a variety of physical effects made, so that the magnetic field strength into electrical signals.
We are mainly products the magnets and magnetic related sensor driven by magnets, such as Hall magnetic sensors, Magnetic induction sensor.
Usually, Clients choose the magnet in high temperature of 150-250 degrees such as NdFeBSmCoAlNiCo etc materials with the Disc, Rod, Ring magnets, most of magnets are in multi-pole magnetization, diametrical magnetization, or axial magnetization. The magnets used in magnetic sensor should be with uniform density,with consistent magnetic field. In general, NdFeB is the preferred material due to its own characteristics, for examples with strong magnet strength, good temperature coefficient.But in case of low requirements that is not necessary for NdFeB magnets, Ferrite magnet is good choice because of cheap costs.

Radially magnetised magnets are rare due to a complex manufacturing process. Radially magnetised magnets are mostly used in motors and generators, as well as in free energy experimentation and rare earth permanent frictionless bearings.
This cylindrical Neodymium magnet has been radially magnetised with the north polarity on the inside and south on the outside. The outer diameter is 40mm and inner diameter is 30mm with a stainless-steel ring on the outside.


Radial Ring Magnets are manufactured with the north and south pole on the outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID). These can be used as motor magnets, sensor magnets, and any applications were multiple or single poles are required on the OD or ID of the magnet.

This specification defines the dimensional and magnetic properties of a multipole magnetic ring for use with the linear position magnetic encoder for off-axis rotary applications. Magnetic Multipole Ring Plastic Ferrite for Sensor
Left Images shows the proper placement of a multipole ring over the Linear Incremental (off-axis) Position Sensor. The centerline of the magnetic ring (median Hall sensor scan path) is located over the Hall array.
The magnetic ring is designed such that the pole length lp matches the required length at the scan path (typically the center) of the ring. The IC is oriented in perpendicular with respect to the rotation center.



Marking
The magnet ring has two marks at the backside:
One mark shows the number of poles (72) the other mark shows a single digit letter (A…F), which is of no relevance.

Mounting the Magnet Ring
The magnet ring may be mounted directly on magnetic or non-magnetic surfaces. When magnetic surfaces are used, the ring may be mounted on top of the surface, but not immersed in a cavity, as this may weaken the magnetic field of the magnet. When mounting the magnet on a non-magnetic surface, either method is acceptable.
Depending on the carrier material, there are several adhesives available to glue the ring to the surface. For general ruggedness and vibration demands, the use of two-component-adhesive (binder + hardener) has proven to be successful in most cases.
A sensor magnet in housing is a permanent magnet that is epoxy encapsulated in a plastic or metal housing that is either cylindrical panel mount or adjustable screw mount, rectangular screw mount, or other custom mounted housing. Our sensor magnet products are used to actuate various magnetic reed sensors, hall effect sensor, and magnetic reed switches. The magnet is typically mounted to the moving part while the sensor or switch is mounted to a fixed surface.

A Halbach Array is a special configuration of magnets to maximise the magnetic field on one side whilst reducing it on the other.
In the ring form presented here, the magnetic lines are focussed inside the ring.
Halbach arrays are the cutting edge of new design in relation to generators, motors, magnetic bearings and many more applications.
These magnets are supplied in sets of 12 magnets and are NOT assembled in the ring arrangement for you.



You will need to assemble the magnets in the desired locations as described by the diagram below.
I recommend you will have a sufficient workshop and engineering knowledge to setup the ring arrangement.

The Cylinder Halbach Magnet are very powerful and you cant simply place them together with your hands, you WILL NEED specific tools to hold in place and secure these magnets.
Halbach Magnet’s main function is holding, fixturing, linear coupling application, so it is mainly used for motor, generator, magnetic resonance, magnetic levitation high-speed rail,pre-polarization, chemical single crystal growth. For example, the traditional permanent magnet motor often use distributed winding to weaken the influence of harmonic magneto motive force. In the Halbach motor because of its high magnetic field sine distribution, harmonic magnetic field less affected, it can be used centralized winding. With Halbach motor magnet arrangement, can reduce the torque ripple of the motor, so the bearing requirements for the motor greatly reduced.
